As Director of Professional Development for Studer Community Institute, I have the privilege of putting together training sessions to help you and your business achieve more. Having seen the benefit in my own life, as well as many friends, colleagues and business professionals, I am a huge proponent of personal and professional development. I know that individuals and businesses that invest in their growth, through learning opportunities, do better than those who don’t.

David Hosmer agrees with me and outlines a number of reasons why employee development planning is no longer optional, it is essential to staying competitive. Factors that have affected and eroded long-term employee-employer relationships employees:

  • Affordable Health Care Act
  • The Great Recession.
  • The increase in Opportunities.
  • Access to Information.
  • Dwindling Retirement Benefits.

Employers cannot recruit all of the talent necessary to compete in a dynamic business world, so they must develop capabilities internally...Employees, especially Millennials, place enormous importance on having career development opportunities in the workplace.
