Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Revitalization team, along with Brownsville business leaders and Historic Brownsville Community, Inc., will host phase two of a collaborative discussion with Brownsville’s business community.

The meeting on Monday, Oct. 30 at the Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. DeSoto St., is the first in a series of collaborative meetings of Brownsville businesses and is a follow up to the Meet and Greet I event that was held last year.

The first Meet and Greet was a chance for businesses in the community to come together and get to know one another, while Monday’s will be a strategic meeting to ensure the current and future growth of the Brownsville business community.

“This is much needed” said Mike Kilmer, President of Historic Brownsville Community, Inc. “Brownsville has a lot of potential; we need to do something with it” he also added.

Christian Wagley, principal of Sustainable Town Concepts will be a key speaker and guide some of the discussion.

Wagley has worked in Florida and the southeast for nearly 20 years, focusing on balancing the built and natural environments through work in state and county government and small business.  In recent years he has focused on green building and development, with a special interest in traditional neighborhoods.

The meeting is not limited to business leaders; residents are encouraged to attend to let their voice be heard and help shape the future of the business culture of Brownsville. Dinner will also be served.

Please RSVP by today, Friday, Oct. 27 to Faith Higgins, Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator at (850) 434-5456 ext. 1018 or [email protected] .
