November was looking up for the Pensacola metro area job market.

That is according to data released today by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity showing the two-county area added 3,300 jobs in November compared to the same month in 2014.

Some 2,000 of those jobs came in professional and business services and education and health services.

Among the other key points announced today:

— The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Escarosa region (Escambia and Santa Rosa counties) was 4.7 percent in November, down 0.8 percent point from a year ago.

— Out of a labor force of 212,571 there were 10,053 unemployed residents in the region.

— Santa Rosa’s unemployment rate was 4.3 percent; Escambia’s was 4.9 percent.

— The Pensacola metro area had the highest yearly growth rate compared to all the metro areas in the state in financial activities (+3.7 percent) in November 2015.  

— Professional and business services (+4.6 percent) and financial activities (+3.7 percent) grew faster in the metro area than statewide over the year.
