County Commission Chairman Grover Robinson said it best when he described the opening of the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition’s new $8 million dollars research center as not only a great day for Escambia and Pensacola, but also Florida.

“You’ve brought us some great people from all over the world,” said Robinson in thanking IHMC co-founder Ken Ford for the impact his non-profit research center has had on the community.

The video above features Robinson’s remarks about the affect IHMC has had on the community as well as the world.

Last month Robinson and other dignitaries helped dedicate IHMC’s new three-story, 30-square-foot Levin Center for IHMC Research. The center is named after Pensacola attorney Fred Levin, who donated $1 million to project.

Ford will speak next week at the Studer Community Institute’s second annual EntreCon, a two-day conference set for Nov. 2 and 3 that’s geared for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Ford’s talk takes place on Thursday, Nov. 2, at New World Landing.
