You’ve set up your Facebook and Instagram accounts. You took some awesome pictures of your new business and your products. You checked out what successful businesses are posting and replicated them. Now to sit back and wait for the “likes” to roll in…

OK, so the reality is that this plan never really works. You may get a couple of likes from your mom and your aunt in Ohio, but are you even reaching potential customers? After those first few posts stay stagnant, chances are you’re going to decide that social doesn’t work for YOUR business, and you’ll stop posting. In fact, I’m sure some of you reading this are realizing that you haven’t posted anything new on your pages for months or longer. And guess what? Your customers notice.

Consider this scenario: I’m interested in finding a new hair stylist. I’ve asked around to my friends, and everyone swears that their person is the BEST in town. In order to make sure I find the person that will work best for me, I’m going to start searching around online. After checking each salon’s Facebook page, I go to Instagram to find each stylist’s photos. Stylist A has 300 followers, over 100 posts, and the most recent one was from 3 days ago. Stylist B has a handful of followers and 3 posts from 2016. What happens to Stylist B? I scratch them off my list. How can I pick this person without any information?

This example works for your business, too. No matter what field you are in, if you aren’t staying relevant in social media, your customers and potential customers will see that, and they might just scratch you off their list, too.

How can you stop this from happening?
The key ingredient for truly impactful social media marketing is having an actionable strategy. By putting a plan in place for your business, you can track ROI and brand awareness. There are experts in this field who can help you navigate the process of how to plan, write and execute a creative social media strategy to increase both revenue and engagement. Pensacola local Lisa Long of Red Iron Design House is one of these experts, and you can come learn from her at the Building a Social Media Strategy that Delivers Results workshop on August 6th.

In this 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn everything you need to know about creative social media strategies: how to plan, write, and execute one that delivers results. Our expert speaker, Lisa Long of Red Iron Design House, will share actionable steps and successful, real-life examples that will assist you in developing your social media strategy. In addition, she will share the latest updates on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the different apps the Red Iron team uses to simplify social posting.
