Sometimes college students and money don't mix well.

To help avoid the pitfalls of poor financial management, the University of West Florida College of Business Executive Mentor Program and Pen Air Federal Credit Union will host the spring Financial Boot Camp on Wednesday, March 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the College of Business Education Center, Building 76A, Room 103, on the UWF Pensacola Campus.

The boot camp, designed for students, is held twice a year and invites financial professionals to present guest lectures about financial literacy, personal finance and preparing for post-graduate life.

This spring, the partnership will host its fourth session, featuring two speakers from Pen Air Federal Credit Union. John Heckmann, finance and investments manager, will present “Budgeting for Life After College,” and Phillip White, assistant vice president of mortgage lending, will present “Renting vs. Owning – Understanding Your Options.”

The workshop is free and open to the public. A schedule of events is below:

· 10:45 a.m. – Budgeting for Life After College
· 11:30 a.m. – Lunch (RSVP required)
· 11:45 a.m. – Renting vs. Owning – Understanding Your Options

To RSVP, contact the Executive Mentor Program at [email protected] or (850) 474-3239. For more information, visit uwf.edu/executivementor.
