Do you and your organization struggle with retention of top employees, employee engagement and developing leaders? If your answer is yes, it’s not surprising and you are not alone. A new study by Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends 2015 shows employee retention and engagement are the top issues that companies face today. With generational changes and a shifting business climate, organizations need to do more than ever to engage and develop employees.

There is a common thread that ties these concerns together: Performance Management. So what exactly does good performance management look like?  Skill development is an ongoing process, not a year-end event, and  at our next training on April 6, Quint Studer will share strategies and stories on how to improve results and maintain a competitive advantage. The two-hour course focuses on giving leaders the tools they need to improve and sustain performance.

Most organizations that do performance management tend to use a traditional annual review process. However, that approach is based on the misconception that the only measure of performance is actual output of a physical product. In today’s world, employees in service or information related jobs make up the vast majority of the workforce. Therefore, successful organizations need to shift gears and realize that performance management is about supporting and driving improved performance, not just assessing it.

In her podcast “Strategic Talent Acquisition: The Art & Science of Competitive Advantage,” Elaine Orler, president and founder of the Talent Function Group said, “Talent is one of the last frontiers for differentiation. Any company can have a patent or produce a product. The difference is the quality of that product comes with the value of the talent you have.”

You may not like your current performance management system or even have one. But if it is done right performance management aligns strategy and vision in an organization to achieve results so please join us April 6 for Performance Coaching with Quint Studer.
