Brain Bag baby

Sometimes little things can make the biggest impression.

The little things -- or rather people -- that the work of Studer Community Institute’s early learning division s focused on are the kind of investment that will take years to bear fruit.

But we believe they are worth the patience.

So far this year, some 5,200 babies have been born in Escambia County hospitals. They’ve each received a Brain Bag, SCI’s in-hospital education tool that gives parents a primer on how important early talk and interaction is for the healthy emotional, social and intellectual development of a child.

Our moms overall are rating the knowledge they gain from a 7.2 to a 9.7 (on a scale of 1 to 10). But we want to boost that learning even more — and we want to reach even more parents.

So we’ve worked with the team at Calliope Films to create this educational video that we are rolling out as part of the Brain Bag project. Check it out.
