Entrepreneur Quint Studer is offering his expertise in a course at the University of West Florida.

"Innovation Within the Organization"  is a summer undergraduate and graduate face-to-face course that will offer insights on innovation from Studer, the UWF Center for Entrepreneurship’s entrepreneur-in-residence, and UWF entrepreneur professor Dr. Robert Perkins.

The course will cover topics such as entrepreneurship in organizations, forms of corporate entrepreneurship, culture for fostering corporate entrepreneurship and organization structure and entrepreneurial action.

Studer and Perkins will use case-studies to teach practical lessons along with lively lectures and class discussions. The lecture portion of the class is open to the public. Community members can register for the six-session lecture series by visiting the UWF Continuing Education webpage or by calling the UWF Student Support Center at (850) 474-7468. Cost for the lecture series is $199.95

The course will be from 6-9:20 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 29-Aug. 11 at the UWF College of Business. Students can register for the course at MyUWF.edu.

Studer's book "A Culture of High Performance" is part of the course's syllabus. The book lays out the path that can hardwire high performance in an organization by linking values to workplace performance.

The course is designed for students to learn how to define the difference between individual and corporate entrepreneurship, describe how organizations instill a culture of change and innovation in the workplace, identify and defense key attributes of entrepreneurial organizations, and apply concepts and understanding of corporate entrepreneurship to practical exercises, cases and experiences.

“I look forward to learning from many bright University of West Florida students as well as sharing lessons learned from my own career,” said Studer, founder of the Studer Community Institute, who with his wife, Rishy, owns several businesses in the Pensacola area.

The course will be from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 29 to Aug. 11 at the UWF College of Business.

Limited seats remain for the course and UWF still is accepting registration, including from the community at large.
