WSRE is hosting two PBS LearningMedia teacher workshops on Tuesday, June 28 at the Santa Rosa County School District Professional Development Center, Lab 2, in Milton.

The workshops are free and will be conducted by WSRE Educational Services Director Jill Hubbs and FPBS Educational Services Director Michelle Watson. They are hosted in partnership with the Florida Public Broadcasting Service.

Teachers from Santa Rosa, Escambia and Okaloosa counties can register with Natasha Godwin at (850) 983-5110, ext. 104. The first session from 10 a.m. to noon is full; however, a limited number of openings remain for the second session from 1 to 3 p.m.

PBS LearningMedia provides a robust digital content library, productivity tools for teachers, a student learning portal, analytics and reporting tools to measure student engagement, teacher webinars and professional development support, and timely updates on PBS programs and new content.

In Florida, PBS LearningMedia has been customized to align with Florida Standards as well as National and Common Core Standards.

This custom edition of PBS LearningMedia has been made available to Florida teachers through the support of the state legislature, giving classrooms across the state free access to the library’s collection of more than 120,000 standards-aligned resources to fuel student interest.

Nationwide, there are more than 1.8 million users with registered access to PBS LearningMedia, impacting 40 million students.
