100-year-old woman gets birthday wish to see the Gulf of Mexico

  The Associated Press has a heart warming story of Ruby Holt, 100, who was taken to see the Gulf of Mexico for the first time. The mother-of-four had never walked on a beach after spending many years working as a cotton-picker and raising her family - with no extra money to spend on vacations. Workers at Mrs Holt's home run by Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Columbia, Tennessee, and the Wish of a Lifetime organization gave physical and emotional support to Mrs Holt on the visit the Perdido Beach Resort. Holt said her farming family never was able to afford a trip to the coast, and she's left Tennessee only once before.
