The Rotary’s Community Grants Chair Bruce Partington last month announced the annual club awards to area non-profits. SCI received $2,469 to help support its early learning programs, including the Brain Bag literacy kits and Basics Insights text messages.

Partington reported 32 applicants who responded to assist projects and needs to fulfill their missions.

Club Rotarians contribute each year to fund the community grants based on similar goals. Eleven non-profits met the criteria to make improvements in education, family services, ministries, healthcare and special needs. A total of $25,000 was distributed to the following non-profits:

Bright Bridge Ministries, Waterfront Rescue Mission, ECARE, Family Promise of Escambia County, Pace Center for Girls, Ronald McDonald House, AMI Kids Pensacola, United Ministries, Autism Pensacola, UWF Historic Trust and Studer Community Institute.

President Sally Fox said: “Rotarians care very much about those organizations who help so many and thanked them for all their efforts to provide services that so many in our community need.”

Rotary Club of Pensacola, the second oldest club in the State of Florida, meets each Tuesday at noon at Pensacola Yacht Club in person and virtually.
