Art & vino on Perdido Key April 4-5

Wine PRESS RELEASE – Enjoy eye-catching art and live music April 4-5 at “A Taste of Perdido” when the Perdido Key Wine & Art Festival celebrates spring on the scenic barrier island. The featured artist, Margaret Biggs, is known for her unique depictions of coastal areas that communicate the calm and relaxation that come with being on the shore. Her work is on display from Carmel, Calif., to Baton Rouge, La. to Pensacola and Gulf Shores, Ala. The event will include numerous artists, crafts vendors and live music by well-known performers Pat McCann,John Joiner, and Top Hat and Jackie. The fun will take place inside and outside the new Visitor Information Center, 15500 Perdido Key Drive, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. A VIP event, with music and other entertainment, will be held 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 4; cost is $25 each or $45 per couple. McCann will perform at the VIP event; he plays diverse styles—Brazilian jazz, New-Age-Classical, porch pickin,’ and funky fusion. Admission is free from noon to 8 p.m. April 5 when people can enjoy more food and live music. For $15 you will receive a souvenir glass and tickets to taste five wines.    Top Hat and Jackie, who will take the stage at noon April 5, have been entertaining Gulf Coast audiences for years with country/pop/folk/rock/blues -- plus comedy and love songs. Joiner and his daughter Melissa will perform at 4 p.m. John Joiner has performed with renowned artists such as Rodney Crowell, John Anderson, ZZ-Top and Willie Nelson.
