BRIEFCASE: Ideaworks gets top marks for tourism marketing

Pensacola digital marketing and public relations firm Ideaworks was honored last week for their cutting-edge work with the Perdido Key Visitors Center and Chamber of Commerce. The agency's "Choose Your Adventure, Choose Your Reward" campaign took home top honors at the 2015 Northwest Florida Image Awards, hosted April 2 by the Northwest Florida Coast and Pensacola chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association. The campaign — meant to drive tourism in the normally slow fall season — invited visitors to create their own virtual itinerary through an online "vacation builder" and book a stay on the key to earn travel rewards. With less than a month to organize and a budget of only $10,000, the campaign exceeded expectations — generating 2,066 room nights for area hotels and condos in less than two weeks. Ideaworks, founded in Pensacola in 1996, has long been a leader among destination marketing organizations — racking up more than 400 industry awards in the last 20 years. In 2013, the agency received a Henry Award — the state's top honor for tourism social media marketing — for its work with the Perdido Key Chamber. This year's Northwest Florida Image Awards were held at the Hilton Sandestin Golf Beach Resort and Spa, in Destin. The annual competition recognizes the best in area public relations work.
