The Pensacola City Council will get a briefing on how services can be improved for the homeless in the Pensacola metro area on Oct. 6.

A City Council task force appointed to research best practices for improving how cities deal with homeless will issue its report to council immediately following the 3:30 p.m. agenda review meeting in the Hagler Mason conference room on the second floor of City Hall.

The homeless task force — officially dubbed the Task Force on Improving Human Relations — will report its findings, as presented by consultant Robert Marbut and John Johnson, task force chairman.

The group’s recommendations aim to increase the “street graduation rate” of the area’s homeless and streamline services to reduce overlap.
