Covenant Hospice and Covenant Alzheimer’s Services announced at the tenth Annual Art of Fashion the opening of The GEM, a secondhand boutique, in the Fall of 2015 and are currently accepting items and volunteers. The GEM is a donation-based, volunteer-driven fundraiser and will boast something for every shopper, from vintage treasures to upscale fashion finds. “Our Garage Sale Extravaganza came to a close after many successful years in 2006 and since then our community, donors, volunteers and families have been hoping for an opportunity to support Covenant Care Services in this way,” says Keelea LeJeune, Manager of The GEM, “The GEM will provide our community with an outlet to donate and show support for the organization, as well as opportunities to save big on fabulous finds while shopping.” The GEM is currently seeking donated items such as vintage and upscale clothing and handbags, jewelry, furniture, lighting and home accessories artwork of all kinds and more. All funds raised from the GEM will support the programs and patients under the Covenant Care family. The unique, secondhand boutique plans to schedule four weekend sales per year, the first of which is scheduled for September 11-13, and welcomes everyone to attend. For the more eager shoppers, The GEM is offering “GEM Memberships” at a donation of $100 per year, to include all four annual sales. GEM Members will have the opportunity to shop one day early at an exclusive “members-only” preview party featuring cocktails and hors de oeuvres.
