PRESS RELEASE -- The Greater Pensacola Chamber announced that Aaron Brickman, the deputy executive director for the U.S. Department of Commerce's SelectUSA program, will be the first keynote speaker for this year's 14th annual Gulf Coast Trade Alliance World Trade Conference. Now in its 14th year, the annual conference is the product of the four-state Gulf Coast States' Trade Alliance, an organization made up of governmental, educational and private business organizations from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana that share an interest in international trade and commerce. This year's theme is "Gateway Gulf Coast: Leveraging Infrastructure to Boost International Commerce," and the two-day event will take place May 1-2 at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front. Brickman will discuss the importance of foreign direct investment as a catalyst for trade. He has counseled hundreds of economic development organizations on creating and implementing best-practice international economic development strategies and has nearly 20 years' experience creating and implementing foreign trade and investment programs. "Foreign trade plays a very important role in the economic development in any region," said Greater Pensacola Chamber President Jerry Maygarden. "We are excited to have Mr. Brickman speaking at this year's conference and look forward to hearing how we can continue to make our region competitive in this ever-changing global economy." Brickman has advised thousands of global companies on aspects of U.S. market entry, including regulatory matters and business strategies. Brickman holds a bachelor's degree from American University in Washington, D.C., as well as a master's degree in international relations from the University of Chicago.
