Wreckage of Blackhawk helicopter that went down Tuesday night has been located by divers in about 25 feet of water in Santa Rosa Sound near Navarre Beach.
During a morning news conference, Eglin Fire Chief Mark Giuliano stated, "It was certainly a high-impact crash. Very, very, very dense fog still complicates recovery efforts."
A salvage vessel from Mobile will be brought to the area to help bring up the helicopter.
The Associated Press is reporting, the military's response officially changed from search-and-rescue to search-and-recovery after divers inspected the aircraft's shattered core, Col. Monte Cannon, vice-commander of the 96th Test Wing, said at Eglin Air Force Base.
