Ensley Elementary School is asking students, staff and members of the community to gather up their loose change and bring it in to help a great cause – the Pensacola Humane Society.

Second-grade teacher Regina Smolensky said donations of pennies are welcome at the school, 501 E. Johnson Ave., any time through the month of September.

“Drop them off… any time … to help us help animals in need,” Smolensky said.

All the money that is collected during the month of September will be donated to the Pensacola Humane Society to help with their mission to improve the lives of companion animals in our community through advocacy, adoption, education, and sanctuary.

Last year, students raised $1,892.61 in the drive.

Donations may be dropped anytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Contact Smolensky with questions at 494-5600.
