Florida-Alabama TPO to host three LRTP public workshops

How do you envision travel in the future? The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (FL-AL TPO) is entering the Needs Assessment phase its 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and seeking public input to help the TPO determine future transportation priorities. Three public meetings have been scheduled to offer citizens the opportunity to share their ideas for transportation needs in the next 25 years. Monday, March 23 at 4:30 p.m. Lillian Community Center 34148 Widell Ave. Lillian, AL 36549 Tuesday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. West Florida Public Library Main Library 239 N. Spring St. Pensacola, FL 32502 Wednesday, March 25 at 11:30 a.m. Tiger Point Community Center 1370 Tiger Park Ln. Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 "The 2040 LRTP is the FL-AL TPO's transportation blueprint for the future. The plan will help guide investments in the region’s transportation system to support economic development, reduce congestion, ease commutes, improve roadway safety, enhance sidewalks, bike, and multi-use trails, and maintain an efficient and effective transportation system," said TPO Chairman and Pensacola City Councilman Charles Bare. The FL-AL TPO is staffed by the West Florida Regional Planning Council (WFRPC), a not-for-profit agency providing professional planning, coordinating and advisory services to local governments, state and federal agencies and the public to preserve and enhance quality of life in northwest Florida.
