This morning, developers will  break ground for a new senior living facility at the site of the old Pensacola Racquet Club. Summer Vista, as the development will be called, will be managed by SRI Management and constructed by The Douglas Co. on Wimbeldon Drive. The 75,138 square foot development will have 89 apartments and will cater to seniors who can no longer live at home safely, according to a news release. It also will have a secured neighborhood that will be dedicated to caring for dementia and Alzheimer's patients, the release says. "This senior living community will provide the highest quality care to its residents," says Patrick Duplantis, managing director of Hardcourt Development. "The construction of this community will create immediate jobs using goods and services from the local economy as well as provide future jobs upon its opening." Summer Vista is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016.
