Dean DeBolt wants our neighbors to the north to know we care.

As the Northeast deals with an arctic blast that has dumped near record amounts of snow and frigid temperatures, DeBolt, the university librarian and archivist at the University of West Florida Library, sent out this email today:

"In sympathy with our northern neighbors, the University Archives and West Florida History Center, University of West Florida Libraries, shares these photographs of the first snowfall in UWF History, February 9, 1973, when 2 inches of snow fell on the campus.

"Photographs show the snow-covered Ed. Ball Nature Trail, the UWF entrance sign (Scenic Highway and Nine Mile Road), snow on dormitories, and the enterprising first snowmen on the UWF campus."
