Susan Davis, CEO of Sacred Heart Health System, believes kindergarten readiness is one of the most critical issues facing Escambia County.

Davis appears in the Studer Community Institute’s TV show this week on BlabTV. She talks about the need to help 4- and 5-year-olds get ready for school.

“Give them opportunities to succeed and understand why graduation is important,” says Davis.

This week’s program, which is airing on BlabTV and live streaming, features the Institute’s Shannon Nickinson and Reggie Dogan interviewing a trio of Escambia County School District employees who played key roles in the 6.6 percent increase in the county’s high school graduation rate. The show features:

— Michelle Taylor, director of workforce education.
— Lesa Morgan, director of high schools.
— Holly Busse, graduation coach.
