'Groundswell Rising' returns with a discussion on fracking in Florida

The public is invited to this encore showing of 'Groundswell Rising' followed by a discussion led by Craig Stevens. The documentary film explores the expansion of fracking and the rise of a movement to challenge a system that promotes profit over the health of our environment. The inspiring film gives voice to ordinary folks engaged in a David and Goliath struggle against Big Oil and Gas. Spring St., Meeting Room B, Pensacola, FL 32502 When: Thursday, March 19, 2015, 5-7:30 p.m. [/sidebar] Pennsylvania anti-fracking activist Stevens brings to us his personal experiences and his mission to expose the harmful effects of the practice of fracturing to extract oil ad shale gas. Stevens will also take a look at the fossil fuel industry's growing interest in drilling in Florida. 'Groundswell Rising' was first shown in Pensacola in February 2014. Stevens returns to our community as part of his 2015 tour through Florida. The screening is jointly sponsored by Food & Water Watch, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Rethink Energy Florida, Earth Ethics, Inc., 350 Pensacola, and Don't Frack Florida.
