Safe neighborhoods begin with neighbors who are willing to look out for each other.

To that end, the Escambia Sheriff’s Office is hosting the 17th Neighborhood Watch Academy class on Nov. 19 at the main administration building, 1700 W. Leonard St.

Attendees will learn how to organize a successful neighborhood watch program and prevent crime in their homes and neighborhoods.

Topics to be covered in this one evening seminar include: the history of the Neighborhood Watch Program; how to make an effective call for a police response without fear of retribution; and how to make yourself less likely to be a victim or crime.

For details or to register, email [email protected] or call Community Services Coordinator David Craig at 436-9281.
