The Pensacola News Journal reports that former city employee Derek Cosson has been absolved in an investigation of his involvement in a politically motivated website.
The probe by an outside attorney retained by city officials, Rob Larkin, looked into allegations that Cosson is responsible for a personal website that criticized opponents of Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward, among others. But the inquiry essentially cleared Cosson, the mayor's former press spokesman. Larkin's report states that although Cosson was responsible for the website, called Dick's Blog, there's no evidence that he posted the criticisms or operated the blog on city time.
Cosson, the PNJ story reports, recently resigned his job as the city's website operator to seek work in the private sector. Read the story here.
