Kicking off the classics

The Saenger Classic Movies series kicks off at 7 p.m. on Aug. 2 with “King Kong” — the classic 1933 version starring Fay Wray and Robert Armstrong.

Watch it be reminded that beauty is what killed the beast.

If you can’t make it, the classics keep on coming:

Aug. 9 — “Rebel Without a Cause.”

Aug. 16 — “American Graffiti.”

Aug. 23 —“Dr. No.”

Aug. 30 — “How the West Was Won.”

Sept. 06 — “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.”

Sept. 20 — “Vertigo.”

Sept. 27 — “Blazing Saddles.”
