The Pensacola Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) Class of 2015 will host an official unveiling event for its class project, LeaP This Way.

The event begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Artel Gallery, 223 Palafox Place.

After more than eight months of planning, fundraising and construction, LeaP This Way has renovated some 30-35 direction and parking signs in downtown Pensacola. The project also included a parking lot beautification day on May 9.

It cost $90,000.

Among the sites that would be added would be the Pensacola Children’s Museum, the Rex Theatre, the Community Maritime Park and Stadium, Fort George Park and St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Founded in the fall of 1982, LeaP is a 10-month-long program designed to help participants understand the issues facing the greater Pensacola region and the leadership skills necessary to resolve them. More than 1,500 people have completed the program.
