Financial Management and Investment Corp. has been in downtown Meridian, Miss., for 60 years. By July, the financial firm will be calling Palafox Street home, as its owner Tag Purvis relocates the firm to the old Knights of Columbus building in Pensacola. The Meridian, Miss., Star reported on the company's move this weekend. The paper reports that the company has more than 40 branches in Mississippi and Louisiana.
 Financial Management and Investment Corp. was founded in 1955 by Tag Purvis' father, Guy Purvis, with a $1,500 loan. A Pensacola native, Guy decided to move to Meridian when he and his wife visited the area shortly after they married.
