Hundreds of families, companies, and volunteers will take part in the 2015 March for Babies, presented by New York Life, this Saturday, April 25 at Maritime Park. In addition to the 1.5-mile walk, other festivities will include bounce house, face painting, crafts, kids’ workshop, live entertainment, refreshments and more. March for Babies is the March of Dimes annual fundraising event. It supports research and other programs nationwide and in the local community to help babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive. In Florida, one in seven babies is born prematurely, and every week 562 babies are born too soon and 27 will not survive to see their first birthday. Premature babies often spend their first weeks in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) fighting for their life. Interested walkers can sign up at marchforbabies.org. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. Walk starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Community Maritime Park.
