Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan will be the speaker at the EscaRosa Young Republicans first Dinner and Discussion on March 26, 2015 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at Cactus Cantina Mexican Restaurant on 5121 North 12th Avenue (across from the airport) in Pensacola. The event is first of its kind to the newly formed club, chartered under the Florida Federation of Young Republicans, with $20 annual memberships for ages 18 – 40 years of age and $15 annual associate memberships available for republicans over 40 years of age. The organization is aimed to develop an aggressive and productive Young Republican club, to attract young men and women into the Republican Party and provide them with a practical means of Republican Party participation, leadership training, and political involvement at all levels of government and to further the principles, objectives, and platform of the FFYR and to promote the election of duly nominated Republican candidates. The club wants to become an active grassroots group in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Escambia County alone has over 87,600 registered republicans. “We want to be an all-inclusive club doing cutting edge social media marketing, grassroots organizing, voter registration drives and volunteer recruiting for local, state and national campaigns,” said Chris LaMontagne, EscaRosa YRs Communications Coordinator, “We have the momentum to create a positive difference in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, especially just after the recent Rick Scott campaign victory.” LaMontagne was first introduced to Escambia County politics as an intern for Governor Scott’s re-election campaign. “We are excited to mobilize and motivate already registered republicans and recruit new voters,” said EscaRosa YRs President, Kevin Brown, who also served as Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Regional Field Director during the past election cycle. “We want to become an active arm of the local political parties in both counties and create a solid foundation for candidates and campaigns.” To learn more about EscaRosa YRs, follow them on twitter @EscaRosaYRs and Instagram @EscaRosaYRs or like them on facebook @EscaRosaYoungRepublicans
