This Saturday, members from the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra will kick off a new partnership that aims to help young musicians who participate in the Belmont Youth Band. “Belmont Youth Band provides an incredible experience for young people,” said Bret Barrow, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra executive director. “The Orchestra members are delighted to have an opportunity to work with these talented students and their teachers. We look forward to building relationships that will foster a lifelong love of music. Both of our organizations serve this mission of music and the partnership is very exciting.” This Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, members of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra will be on hand at the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Resource Center in Pensacola for introductions and a meet and greet with Belmont Youth Band teachers and instructors. After the introduction, they will break out into small instrument-specific groups for demonstrations, discussion and instruction. “The Belmont Youth Band members are excited for this amazing opportunity,” said Vivian Lamont, executive director of the Belmont Youth Band. “This is a partnership that can build a love of music for generations.” Students age 7 through high school are welcome to attend Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Resource Center at 111 Berkley St., Pensacola.
