In recent weeks, the Pensacola Bay Area has earned two significant distinctions. This week, Fodor’s—the world’s largest publisher of English language travel and tourism information—included Pensacola Beach in its annual Go List as one of 25 places that “should be on every traveler’s radar in 2015,” praising the soft quartz beaches of the Florida Panhandle as “more beautiful than what you’ll find on most Caribbean islands and undoubtedly among the best in the United States.” In November, meeting professionals who hold meetings in the southern U.S. named Pensacola a top host location, according to ConventionSouth magazine. The publication recently presented Visit Pensacola with a 2014 Readers’ Choice Award. “ConventionSouth readers and fans have voted to decide the best meeting sites in the South, and it is no surprise to us that Visit Pensacola has been selected to receive our annual Readers’ Choice Award,” said ConventionSouth Publisher J. Talty O’Connor. “These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have contributed in determining that Visit Pensacola indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity and service that they require,” O'Connor said. This is the fourth time Visit Pensacola has received the Readers’ Choice Award since it was created in 2001. Visit Pensacola will be featured as an award recipient in the December 2014 Awards issue of ConventionSouth magazine, which is distributed to more than 18,000 U.S. meeting professionals.
