The third annual Pensacola LGBT Film Festival kicks off Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce in downtown Pensacola. The festival, which runs through Oct. 18, highlights the artistic contributions both nationally and internationally of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender films and filmmakers. “We have a fantastic lineup of films this year,” LGBT Film Festival Committee member Keith Hardy said. “We have a very diverse lineup, so there's really something for everyone.” The confirmed venues for this year’s film festival are as follows: — Oct 15: Historic Pensacola's Museum of Commerce at 6:30p.m. — Oct 16: Palafox House at 6:30 p.m. — Oct 17: Pensacola Little Theatre at 7 p.m. as part of Gallery Night — Oct 18: The East Hill Yard at 7 p.m. Opening night will focus on youth-themed films, spotlighting the coming of age of LGBT youth in America and abroad. “As in previous years, our films are family friendly, so that everyone can come have a good time and enjoy the event,” Hardy said. “Festival goers can look forward to a mixture of short and feature length films.” Thursday’s films focus on LGBT aging, and will include a Q&A with local medical service providers. On Friday, the festival will be a participant in Pensacola’s monthly Gallery Night. On Saturday, the festival hosts a Skype interview with a cast member of the screened film, “Turkish Boat.” The film explores LGBT issues from an Islamic perspective. All screenings are free and open to the public. The festival also offers a $100 VIP package. For more information, visit the Pensacola LGBT Film Festival page on Facebook.
