MESS Hall starts summer hours May 26

The Pensacola MESS Hall, a hands-on science museum in downtown Pensacola, begins extended summer operating hours on May 26.

Located in downtown Pensacola at 116 N. Tarragona St., the Pensacola MESS Hall is a hands on science museum where visitors have the opportunity to mess around with math, engineering, science, and stuff.

General admission is $8 for adults and children ages 3 and up.

This summer, for the first time, the MESS Hall will be open seven days a week. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Starting May 31, the MESS Hall will begin special theme weeks featuring special mess kits and activities along with workshops and special presentations.

Some of the themes this summer include robotics, sports science, bugging out, flight, your body, and more. Special guests this summer include Wahoos players, the 501st Legion, and Ken Blackburn, holder of a paper airplane world record.

No registration required to explore the exhibits, and many programs are open to all visitors. Some special programs may require registration or an additional fee.

Also on tap this summer are half-day camps for students in elementary and middle schools. Topics include Ocean Commotion, Inventor's Workshop, DNA Detectives, and Zombie Apocalypse. Registration is required.
