The “Geek Gallery Night” is coming. Pensacon presents the Pensacola Pop Expo on Nov. 15 in participation with the Foo Foo Festival. The expo will line the streets near Seville Quarter with vendors, artists, food, cosplay, performances, demonstrations, and more, in a festival atmosphere. The expo is from noon to 10 p.m. Admission is free, but a nonperishable food donation is requested. All profits and food donations will benefit Manna Food Pantries. Pensacon 2014 guest and Winston Zeddemore in “Ghostbusters”, Ernie Hudson, is a featured guest of the event and will be available for autographs and pictures. Hudson will introduce a special outdoor screening of the 30th anniversary of the comedy classic at 7 p.m. Immediately before the screening, there will be an all-ages costume contest on stage at 6 p.m. “We're very excited to be putting this event on for Pensacola as part of Foo Foo Fest. Think of this as Geek Gallery Night, with more of a focus on pop culture and more family friendly activities,” says Mike Ensley, Pensacon Chairman. “One of Pensacon's goals is stay involved with our community all year long and to give back through our work with Manna Food Pantries.” Pensacon’s first event in February 2014 brought some 11,000 sci-fi, horror, comics and anime fans to the Pensacola Bay Center over three days. The event included panel discussions, celebrity meet-and-greets, concerts, gaming events, costume contests and more. Pensacon 2015 is set to return to the Bay Center from feb 27 to March 1. Other guests at the Pop Expo include World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer The Honky Tonk Man and professional comic artists Steve Scott (Judge Dredd, Batman), Steven Butler (Spider-Man, Sonic), Mitch Byrd (Green Lantern, Spawn), Jason Craig (Freedy vs. Jason, Evil Ernie), Jen Broomall (Critter, Lady Death) and K. Michael Russell (Hack/Slash). There will also be a “Drawing with Kids” event hosted by artist Steven Butler (Archie Comics, Sonic The Hedgehog, Spider) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Blue Morning Gallery. Cost is $10 and it is open to children ages 6 and up. In addition, Mainline Art House is hosting a Ghostbusters themed art exhibit, where Ernie Hudson will be signing from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. For details, click here.
