The “Shop with a Cop” program partnered an estimated 30 Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies with 38 children for a Christmas shopping trip at the Wal Mart on Hwy 29 in Pensacola, Fla., Friday, December 19, 2014. Children in need were identified by the Escambia County School District to participate in the program, and each was given a gift card that allowed them to purchase Christmas gifts. Escambia County Deputies, volunteering their time, escorted the children to Walmart and helped them with their shopping. The gifts are purchased from donations from Walmart, the Police Benevolent Association, The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Trust and other sponsors.
