The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public hearing concerning proposed intersection improvements to Ninth Avenue at Creighton Road from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5725 N, Ninth Ave. The state proposes to add an additional northbound left-turn lane with a raised traffic separator on Ninth Avenue at the intersection with Creighton Road. Improvements include widening, milling and resurfacing the existing lanes, minor drainage upgrades, sidewalk construction and improvements to curb ramps and pedestrian signal features to meet current standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation scheduled at 6 p.m. Maps, drawings, and other project information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions and receive comments.
