Radiation Oncologists Join Sacred Heart Cancer Center

[caption id="attachment_23928" align="alignright" width="216"]Dr. Gerald Lowrey Dr. Gerald Lowrey[/caption] The Sacred Heart Cancer Center has two new physicians who specialize in radiation oncology. Dr. Gerald Lowrey and Dr. Robert Marcus have joined the Sacred Heart Oncology Group and will provide radiation therapy services at the health system’s Cancer Center in Pensacola. Lowrey and Marcus obtained their medical degrees from the University of Florida College of Medicine and also performed their residency training in radiation oncology at the University of Florida. They are both board-certified radiation oncologists and credentialed by the MD Anderson Cancer Network®. [caption id="attachment_23929" align="alignleft" width="216"]Dr. Robert Marcus Dr. Robert Marcus[/caption] The pair will practice exclusively at the Sacred Heart Cancer Center on Airport Boulevard and will no longer treat patients at their former Davis Highway location. The doctors treat patients with the Trilogy Stereotactic System, a state-of-the-art method of cancer treatment that delivers high doses of radiation directly to cancer cells, more precisely than is possible with conventional radiotherapy.
