Ransom teacher eyeing Red Planet

The Pensacola News Journal reports that Ransom Middle School teacher Louis O'Rear is one of 663 candidates for the Mars One program. The PNJ's Troy Moon writes:
Mars is 143 million miles away. But for Ransom Middle School science teacher Louis O'Rear, the Red Planet is one step closer. O'Rear, 50, was recently notified he is one of 663 remaining candidates for the Mars One program, a Dutch-led venture that aims to send four people on a one-way trip to Mars in 2025.
