Rick Harper on how data can "tell the story"

Rick Harper is the director of the Studer Institute and also serves as University of West Florida's assistant vice president for economic development and director of the university's Office of Economic Development and Engagement. He will be responsible for the dashboard indicators and other data series that will describe our community and track its performance. "One of the things that I've learned in many years of being a professor and being an economist is you have to be able to tell the story," says Harper. "If you can't put a human face on that, then people are not going to understand your message. They're not going to understand why it's important."
