Celebrating re-election with his trademark focus on jobs, Gov. Rick Scott will host events across the state in advance of his Jan. 6 inauguration, the Republican Party of Florida announced Wednesday.

Scott will start a "Jobs Jamboree" tour Dec. 1, with barbecues hosted by businesses in Miami, Fort Myers, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and Pensacola.

On inauguration day, Scott will participate in a prayer breakfast, before the swearing-in ceremony and a small reception at the governor's mansion.

"We are focused on three things — jobs, jobs and jobs,'' Scott said in a prepared statement. "Our December jobs jamboree events will highlight some of our growing Florida businesses and also be an opportunity to celebrate our economic progress while focusing on the work we have left to do in the next four years."

Contributions to the state GOP will pay for the events. The party said more details of the events will be announced in the coming days.
