Sheriff's Office honors rescuers of jail explosion

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office will host its 2014 awards ceremony Thursday at 2 p.m. at the administration building, 1700 W. Leonard St., Pensacola. Among those being recognized are several deputies who will receive the Medal of Courage for rescues during the flooding and jail explosion of last April. Escambia County Jail employees Kelley Bradford and Chris Hankinson will be recognized with the Civilian Gold Medal of Honor and the Purple Heart, respectively.
