The spring of 2014 may be the Spring of Stormwater.

Historic rainfall on April 29-30, brought into stark relief the limits of our area’s aging infrastructure.

Sure, when those rainwaters receded it was clear that the area’s infrastructure couldn’t handle 20 inches of rain in 24 hours. But increasingly, interested citizens are saying that the problems we see for smaller rain events could be troubling signs. Particularly as we consider the continued development of our downtown, which sits at the end of the gravity-fed line for runoff from throughout our area.

In this episode of Progress+Promise, we try to sort out what the next steps could be.
