Pensacola City Hall wants to hear from you.

According to Mayor Ashton Hayward’s email newsletter, beginning this week through the end of July, residents will receive community survey calls — either at their home or mobile numbers — asking for participation in a random survey about the quality and importance of city services related to public safety, municipal infrastructure, culture, arts & recreation, neighborhood vitality and sustainable development in Pensacola.

“Participation in the survey will help provide community groups and leaders with important information concerning what residents think about the delivery of major city services and provide a tool for informed decision making,” reads the edition of “Upwords.”

“I come to work every day focused on continual improvement, and I’m always talking to residents, business owners, and other stakeholders about how our City can do better,” Hayward says in the email.

“I believe that the best indicator of government performance is citizen satisfaction, and this survey will allow us to measure where the City is doing well and where we need to improve.”

The email explains: “The caller ID for these calls will show University of West Florida or the phone number 850-439-5401 and researchers will introduce themselves by saying, “Hello, my name is __________ and I'm calling from the Haas Center with the University of West Florida.....” The Haas Center is a research and consulting unit of the University of West Florida and it will be conducting the survey on the City’s behalf.

“The researchers will NOT ask for your name or any other private information – just your opinions! Your identity and survey responses will remain confidential.

“This is your chance to help define our priorities, guide our investments and set the course for our future.”
