The Florida Department of Transportation plans to widen and make improvements to parts of U.S. 90/Nine Mile Road. The public can review and weigh in on those plans next Tuesday, December 2. The project includes widening 2.28 miles of Nine Mile Road from two lanes to four lanes, adding sidewalks, and making safety upgrades along the corridor that will meet standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act. There will also be improvements to drainage, the construction of storm water drainage treatment facilities and changes to traffic signals. Maps, drawings, and other information about the project will be on display and representatives from the FDOT will be there to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions. The public meeting is Tuesday, December 2, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at Plainview Baptist Church, 1101 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola.
